Outline of the chapters of Pirates of Miami:

 

  • Chapter 1: When is a promise not a promise?  When it’s made by Celebrity Cruises!  This chapter outlines numerous incidents of promises made by senior executives at Celebrity Cruises, all of them subsequently broken.  It includes documentation of emails sent that prove that a promise from Celebrity Cruises is worthless.

  • Chapter 2: Anti-LGBTQ incidents and homophobic behavior of senior officers on Celebrity Cruises ships and company senior executive officers.  This chapter details numerous Anti-LBGTQ incidents and the homophobic behavior onboard Celebrity Cruises ships.  It also provides an account of the subsequent decision of the senior executives of Celebrity Cruises to retaliate against the author, including revoking his cruise privileges on the cruise line and terminating its relationship with the travel agency he started and worked for. It contains detailed documentation, including copies of emails from senior executives, a copy of the report made to the cruise line, proof that it was received on the date filed, and copies of email receipts from senior Celebrity Cruises executives proving that the report was received and read by them prior to them taking retaliatory action against the author.

  • Chapter 3: Retaliation against the author and his former travel agency, because he filed a valid complaint against the cruise line! Just because the author filed a valid complaint against the cruise line, they decided to retaliate against him and the travel agency he started and represented! On December 15, 2022, just 7 days after he filed the complaint, Celebrity Cruises terminated the travel agency he started 30+ years before, and put them on a ‘No Book’ status, meaning they were no longer allowed to promote or make new reservations with Celebrity Cruises. They also revoked the author’s sailing privileges and put him on a ‘No Sail’ status, meaning he is no longer allowed to sail on any of the Celebrity Cruises ships. These actions were abviously unjustified, but the cruise line refuses to change their decision. The decision not just affected the author, but the agency’s employees, who lost a large part of their means of income, even though they had absolutely nothing to do with the incident. The cruise line’s continued retaliation and refusal to reverse the decision shows how petty and immature their upper management is! UPDATE DECEMBER 2023! As a further retaliation, Celebrity Cruises put the author’s husband on a ‘No Book’ status as well. They sent an email to the author’s husband from a no reply email address notifying him of this. The email was not signed and no reason was given. They further canceled the author’s husband’s legitimate reservation on a Celebrity cruise the morning he was due to sail with no advanced warning or without any reason given! This shows the childish and petty behavior of the Cruise Line’s top executives!

  • Chapter 4: When is a contract not really a contract? When it executed by Celebrity Cruises!  This chapter details numerous occasions of supposedly valid business contracts issued by Celebrity Cruises that turn out not to be worth the paper they’re written on.  Included are descriptions of countless times where Celebrity Cruises broke the terms of the contracts and promises made within them.  It contains detailed documentation, including copies of the contracts, and subsequent emails from Celebrity Cruises representatives and top executives asserting they will not honor the terms of the contracts. 

  • Chapter 5: Deceptive marketing practices and false advertising of Celebrity Cruises.  This chapter details the constant deceptive marketing practices and false advertising of Celebrity Cruises.  It proves conclusively that their advertising is deceptive and the promises made in their ads are blatantly false.  Claims of discounts, such as 75% off second passenger fares, are actually based on arbitrary fake pricing and falsely represents actual pricing.  Also, advertised ‘book by’ deadlines actually turn out to be not true and are merely a means by which to trick the readers and cruise goers into making their reservations by false deadlines.  The chapter contains copies of emails from senior executives where they admit to these false pricing and booking deadlines.

  • Chapter 6: The Celebrity Cruises disappearing earned credits scams!  This chapter details the numerous times that Celebrity Cruises makes promises that the agency will earn credits based on sales volumes and then later ‘conveniently’ removes those credits from accounting reports.  Contained in the chapter are copies of accounting reports showing that the credits had been earned and then subsequent reports where the credits magically disappear!

  • Chapter 7: When is a payment credit not really a credit?!  When it’s posted by Celebrity Cruises!  This chapter details the numerous times that Celebrity Cruises correctly applied a payment received from a passenger to an accounting report and then intentionally removed the payment, thereby depriving the travel agency of a significant payment amount and reducing the amount the cruise line owes the travel agency.  In addition, Celebrity Cruises refuses to reapply the credit, arrogantly stating that this is the way accounting is done at the cruise line!  Included in this chapter are copies of accounting reports and emails made, proving inclusively this deceptive Celebrity Cruises scam.

  • Chapter 8: Why are prices and availability different for single travelers? Because Celebrity Cruises discriminates against the single traveler! This chapter points out the discriminatory pricing and cabin availability practices of Celebrity Cruises as it pertains to the single traveler. It shows how the cruise line limits it cabin availability for single travelers and add surcharges to the single traveler in an attempt to discriminate and limit the number of single travelers on its cruises. UPDATE JANUARY 2024! Celebrity Cruises has instituted a new pricing policy where they’re now charging an additional single occupancy penalty of $1,000 and up for bookings made of double occupancy cabins by single travelers! The new penalties make it impossible for single travelers to book Celebrity Cruises. The cruise line says that they’re doing this to recoup lost onboard revenue when their double cabins are occupied by single travelers. This is a lie! Studies show that single travelers actually spend more onboard than couples do, they buy more wine, they book more shore excursions, they buy more in the onboard shops, and they book more spa treatments! The new single occupancy penalty shows that Celebrity Cruises is anti-single and also anti-LGBTQ as many LGBTQ travelers travel as a single.

  • Chapter 9: The Celebrity Cruises commission reduction scam! We have proof that Celebrity Cruises is perpetuating a scam where they intentionally reduce the commission amount due on an agency group invoice and try to hide it by manipulating the totals of the group invoice, thereby cheating the agency out of a significant amount of commissions due. They think they can get away with this because it is known that the vast majority of travel agencies do not have the time or manpower to audit their group invoices. Although the amounts of each commission cheated may be marginal as compared to the total commission earned, the amount they steal is actually very significant when you take into account the amount of agencies they attempt to cheat!
